Dr. Kate Steel is the co-founder and CEO of Nithio, which focuses on financing energy access in Africa. Previously she was the Director of the Energy Office at Power Africa (USAID), the US Government led partnership to double electricity access in sub-Saharan Africa. Before joining USAID, she focused on renewable energy and energy access investments in Africa and South Asia at Google and worked on grid and off-grid energy access in Africa and South Asia, including managing Lighting Africa, at the World Bank.
